When I was a little girl, I used to write every year a
letter to Santa Klaus, asking him
to receive a
bulldog as a Christmas gift, but I never got one, that
is how I found out that he didn't exist.
When I was a teenager, I used to dream, to get a bulldog
for
my good school marks or at least for
the final exam's promotion, but that didn't happened, so
I almost started to think that studying isn't
worth it.
When I was a young lady, searching for the prince
charming,
I was actually looking for somebody
who would prefer giving me a bulldog, instead of the
same old ring, this didn't happen and so I
started to hope for all them (the young gentleman) to
become frogs!!
When I got "older", I started to "torture" my husband in
order to get a bulldog, but he really didn't
want to hear about it. For some reason he was convinced
that a bulldog; didn't have the right to be
classified as a dog! I started thinking that my old
dream will probably never get realized and so I
had, under my roof, many other animals such as; a
bobtail, a Maremma and Abruzzer Sheepdog,
a Pekingese and even a Persian cat.
But their affection and their character
differences weren't
enough for me, I always felt that emptiness related
to my "love at first sight"( = bulldog)!
Finally in 1993, my family got so tired of my continuous
that they brought
me a bulldog: Berny,
and nowadays I am always more convinced that; that dog
has changed our
lives.
After him, Bonny has arrived...and
then Vulcan...Bonny had rewarded me with a birth of her
puppies, that is when I realized how much hard work
there is behind growing the puppies, but also how much
joy they can bring you.
Tosca, Scooter, Priska, Holly, Brixia ,Tommy, Isabel,
Igor
and
Diana
came after
Bonny
and
Vulcan, but we haven't had enough!!
They have invaded our lives, changed our habits and ways
of living, but living with them made our
lives complementary, they emotion and surprise us with
their infinite and marvellous ways.
I will end my letter, with these "stolen" words; hope
that the author won't get upset about it!! but I
find these word so perfect for the occasion and they
express my way of thinking.
"every time I hear my bulldogs "snore"...
every time I see them "laugh"..
every time I have the chance to give them a caress..
every time I see a newborn puppy, facing life..
I feel myself as the richest person of the whole world
and until
I will be able to feel these emotions; I will feel
myself worth my dogs love.
I will always be stimulated to select and grow, with
passion and
dedication this beautiful race.
Growing
dogs is not a profession,
it is not a job and it is not something I must to do..
it is a passion,
it the feeling that gives you the greatest joy!"
